I have a 98 chevy tahoe with 102,000 4x4 4door we purchased it a few months ago, it is in great shape and has ran outstanding since we bought it.
But yesterday I took it up town to get gas for our tractor it ran great all the way I got home turned it off and later came back to move it and it started for a second then died and it will not start again, it turns over and has spark but it will not start, so we put a little gas in the carb and it would start for a second and die ! What could be the problem? Any one?
thanks

Sounds like you may have a fuel pump that has went south on ya. I would suggest checking the fuel pressure to start with and go from there.

Well well if it's not my old friend Mr. PASSLOCK RESISTER FAILURE. Do this-- try to start the engine if it starts- fine- run it till it stalls-and it will again- after it stalls--turn the key off for 5 seconds---then turn it to the on position but DO NOT crank the engine, leave it in this position for 15 MINUTES. During that time think happy thoughts.-Then turn the key off for 6 seconds---then start the engine---bet it starts ---- if so--your passlock resistor has failed and you need a new one. This is an anti theft device intergraded in your ignition system when it fails and they do you must get a new one or bypass it all together.
