I have a 2003 Tahoe, recently I have been experiencing a noise much like tire tread noise, it is loudest at about 45 to 50 mph, the transmission seems to shift fine. The noise seems to be louder in the cab as apposed to sticking your head out the window going down the road. I also rotated the tires, that seemed to make the vibration through the dash go away. Any thoughts?

Thanks
Gary

Hi there,

Does the noise change depending on road surface and condition? Get a tyre retailer to test this with you as it may be tyre noise, they should be able to pick this up with a road test.

The road surface makes little to no change in loudness, reduction in speed does though.

Get a road test done by the tyre retailer to eliminate any tyre noise problem first, let me know what they say re tyres.
