95/96 was the transition year for OBD-2. A 95 can have a TBI (8th vin K) or CPI (8th vin R). Check the door sticker for the exact production date, usually anything after 9 of the model year is the next year, 9/95 is usually a 96. The 10th digit of the vin dictates the year as well. Personally I have seen a ton of driveability problems from programmers and chips. In my opinion you are better off to do some exhaust work, fresh air intake and drive it.
