I have a 94 k1500 with a 5.7 L engine that has just been recently rebuilt. I went to tune it up and noticed that the old pug wires werent on right when I took them off so I put them back in the correct firing order (1, 8, 4, 3, 6, 5, 7, 2). While tuning it up I took the distributor out to clean it up and inspect it for damage. I wasnt thinking to mark how I took it out and I put it back in the way I assumed it went in. Then I took the #1 plug out and turned the engine over till it compressed on the cylinder. Then I put the wires on in order from where the rotor was pointing. I went to start it and it just turned over and never started. I checked the fuel and spark and both are fine. Then I tried again and it turned over and then made a bang that sounded like a shotgun going off. It then just turns over like before. Im not sure where to start looking for problems. Can anyone help!

You're 180deg off-put the engine no.1 piston on its compression stroke/TDC and position the rotor to point the cap tower no.1
