Steering problem
1991 Chevy Suburban V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

When I drive my Suburban it has a lot of play in the steering wheel (right to left) I was told that it might be the steering box but would like to make sure. When I drive it has a drifting feeling and when you try to correct it take a second or two to actually kick in. I am basically driving it by moving the steering wheel right to left very slightly to keep it in the traffic lane. I hope this is not bad.

Your not going to find the answer to that question from people that can't see the car. Your going to have to inspect it with 2 people. One person keeps moving the steering wheel, only the amount of play back and forth while someone else watches the linkage to determine what has movement in but not out. There is a rubber flex joint on top of the steering box that can act like that also.
