Fuel pressure

I have a 1997 chevrolet 3/4 ton pu and replaced the fuel pump several times it has 205000 miles and now when I first try to crank it it acts as if the fuel pump is not working. If I leave the key on for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes it will try to start and after a few attemps of this procedure it will crank and run fine. Is there some sort of pressure switch or regulator that could be bad?

Check the fuel pressure again, test the fuel pump relay and fuel pump/oil pressure sending unit. See below
