A/C belt/tensioner

I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 4wd with the 5.3l V-8 with about 50,000mi.
Problems with the A/C tensioner pulley/belt. It seemed the tensioner was weak. The unit was bouncing violently at rpm with the A/C on. With no A/C on, the A/C belt spun very smooth at any RPM. I replaced the tensioner AND belt with OEM parts from the dealership. The same thing is happening. Very, very smooth with no load on the compressor. Turn on the A/C and it is nice until the engine RPM goes above about 2500 Rpm. Then the pully starts going crazy and making a rackety noise for the moment until RPM is lowered. Is the compressor causing this?
Thank-you,

Aaron.

I have ran across this problem before and I did the samething that you did with replacing the belt and tensioner with the same results. I ended up having to replace the A/C compressor and the problem was gone.

Note: Don't forget to change the orifice tube when you do or have the compressor done.
