I need to change the rear end gear ratio in my truck, I have put bigger tires on it and the 3.23 stock gears aren't cutting it.

I am putting 4.10 gears in it. I was told by a dealership that they could not adjust the gear ratio in the new trucks pcm but tire size could be changed.

My idea is this, put a big enough tire in the computer to make the truck seem like its still running the 3.23 gears. That means a 38" tire, they just so happen to ahve this option in the C5500's its option code XTU.

that is a 265/75/22.5 tire, Can this be downloaded using the tech II scanner to a silverado PCM

it could, the tech 2 will change the tire size in the special functions part of the tech 2,it will just recalibrate the EBCM to read a faster or slower wheel speed.but a tire that big might not be an option in the tech 2.there are only so many sizes to calibrate in the tech 2. I guess you could try it.sometimes you need a VCI number from GM to calibrate it,if that option is avalible.
