That is a very common problem with Chevy trucks, especially on the driver's side since it gets the most use. It is so common, places like Advance Auto will more than likely have a new window regulator in stock. What the problem is on your truck is that the window motor and assembly lifts and lowers the window glass by means of a braided wire cable assembly. If you live in a northern climate and have ever had the window freeze (stuck) and tried to raise and lower the window, the cable becomes frayed and ends up wrapping around the good portion of the cable and eventually won't move up or down. You will have to replace the window regulator (motor and cable assembly). It is pretty easy to do. If you have "Vent-Visor" shades on your door, take it off the driver's door before you try to pull the glass out of the door. If not, the visor will get all scratched up. Don't ask me how I know.
