The cruise control on my 2004 4X4 1500 Silverado does not engage. I have checked the fuse and it is intact. If I continue to push the button on the end of the turn signal lever the cruise indicator light will flash intermittently but not every time the button is pushed. I have turned the cruise off and back on at the switch in an attempt to reset the system, but this fails to make a difference and the cruise will still not engage

Okay then , I know that the brake light deal may sound crazy, but they have to be working to complete the circuits for the cruise control.

The next step is to connect a scan tool and observe the Cruise ON/Off parameter in the powertrain control module cruise control data list.

We will want to know if the parameter displays OFF.
