2003 Chevy Silverado directional signals

When I put the left directional signal the 4 way flashers also engage. This doesn,t happen all the timeand if i move the handle a few times it goes back to the left indicator. The local dealer said it could be upwards of $600 to repair. Is this a wide spread problem or an isolated one and do you know if a recall would be in order.

Welcome to the forum. I glanced through service bulletins on your vehicle, nothing caught my attention. I didn't notice any recall for this issue. I could have missed it though?
