2001 Chevy Silverado Dash lights

Hi, my dashlights don't work and neither does my headlightswitch while the truck is running all of the gauges work just not the lights. The tail lights are also having an issue were all of the lights work except when I plug into the stock harness ( truck has tow package) then the right turn signal on the trailer doesn't work. Please tell me you have seen this before on this truck.

do your high beams work or neither low or high beams work? This could be caused by a faulty ground wire located near the headlamp assembly or the headlamp switch. Check the wiring at these locations and if they are good then the headlamp switch itself is most likely at fault.
