While on a trip, my truck suddenly started losing power and RPM. As I drove the problem got worse with severe bogging/lunging when I attempted to press accelerator to achieve anything above 1500 RPM and had great difficulty on uphill grades. Limped into destination and changed fuel filter (after truck sat for several hours). Truck ran perfect for about 40 miles then started losing power and RPM. Condition worsened as I drove. Had purchased a spare fuel filter and swapped them out. Truck ran fine for about 30 miles. Then same symptoms. After blowing out fuel filters and re-using them, I limped home. At home, I removed truck bed, drained fuel tank, hand-wiped fuel tank, flushed fuel pump screen, replaced fuel filter, air cleaned fuel lines and put all back together. Truck ran great for about 20 miles and then same problems. Check/service engine light has not come on. The fuel pump was replaced about 9 months. Any theories?

It does not seem like a fuel delivery problem. It seems like a fuel regulation problem. When you start your engine -- every time -- your computer goes through a series of checks of all the systems it regulates. Referring to the fuel delivery -- after a certain temperature, and time, the computer leans or richens the fuel according to the information it receives from the sensors connected to the fuel regulating system. Sensor like the TPS, O2 sensors, AIT, MAP, CTS, just to name a few.
To start diagnosing the problem start with the basics -- What is the fuel pressure?
