I push on the gas and the rpm goes to about 2 or so and then falls to under 1 and almost stalls, and when I push the gas pedal fast I hear a pop in the engine and I move a foot or so before I have to start push and release the gas so it won't stall. Please help

Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked fuel pump pressure? Have you checked for vacuum leaks including a bad intake gasket? Finally, have you checked the catylatic converter to make sure it isn't plugged?

Let me know.

Does the problem occur everytime you drive it? If it does, it could be like stated above (Cat Conv. Being plugged). I had very similar problems with my truck but it didn't occur everytime. It turned out to be the MAF sensor. My problem was that the truck would surge in rpm as I stepped on the gas, but would fall low, stumble, hesitate, sometimes backfire even with the pedal to the floor. It would only gain rpm when I feathered the pedal until it reached between 20-25mph, then it would accelerate normally after I got past the dead spot from a full stop to 20-25mph. The problem never happened when I was going above 25mph or "kicking it down" while traveling at highway speeds. Only from a dead stop.
