1997 Chevy Silverado V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 123k miles
My Silverado has SFI and I recently have had to prime the bowl with a drop of gas to start it upon which it ran fine. Finally I stalled doing 35mph. Upon inspection I noticed a lack of fuel pump buzz when cranking. I found a blown ecm b fuse under the hood which turns out to be power to the pump. However, replacement did not bring back the buzz Ive always heard from inside the cab, but it is audible when you crouch next to the tank. I assumed it to be a bad pump so I dropped the tank and removed the pump. I did a volume test I read about where as it should pump at least a quart in 30 seconds, which it does easily. There is fuel getting up to the motor because I get fuel at the pressure valve. The injectors must be ok because upon priming it it ran fine. Now it will start with a prime and stall right away. What is missing is hearing it kick on for two seconds from INSIDE the truck. Is this a sign of a pressure problem?
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Note: I replaced filter when starting first became problem, did not help. Also checked pump circuit for low voltage, bad relay etc.
