1992 Chevy Silverado acceleration

When giving the truck gas it goes good, but when trying to accelerate quickly the engine revs up but it doesn't take off. So I have to let off the gas and take off at a slower pace. What could make it do this?

Sounds like the transmission is slipping-check fluid level and condition if okay test the throttle position sensor
