1981 Chevy Silverado Blue Smoke

I am looking at purchasing a 1981 chev 1500 but it has a slight knock which sounds like maybe a lifter, not sure and blue smoke coming out of the tail pipe. Is it worth buying or will it cost a fortune to repair?
