If the fluid levels are up in the transmission then the new fluid could have removed the glue from the clutches and it can be blown. A transmission shop can tell you rather quickly on it's condition.

Automatic transmissions have clutch packs in them. The fluid applys it hydraulically. When you change fluid on high mileage vehicles it, the new fluid sometimes eats the glue off of the clutches inside the clutchpacks and they won't work anymore. Your transmission is probably bad. The only way to tell is to take it to a trans shop and have them do a correct diagnosis.
