1999 Chevy S-10 truck wont start

When put key in @first try to start all dash lights are on but when try to start truck everything goes dead does not do it all the time just once in awhile not a dead battery had it checked

Double check battery connections. Im pretty sure thats where the problem is going to be.

Had one of those in the shop a few weeks back, turned out to be the igniton switch. When dash dead, does anything in the truck work? (Stereo, dome lights) Check the fuse panel under the dash to see what is and isnt getting power when it wont start. Some f the fuses are fed via the ignition switch and some are always hot
