I have a 1996 s-10 4.3 litre v6. It is leaking antifreeze. Have checked water pump not leaking from there. Checked all hoses and freeze out plugs. Is running down the driver side somewhere. Looked not on top of the transmission. Have just replaced the thermostat. All dry there as well. Wet all over bottom of oil pan and on the transmission. Can not find leak.

It can be hard to find sometimes. What to do is go to the parts store and purchase a dye for the cooling system. Spray everything off and then add the dye to the system. Drive the car and then using a black light, look for the leak. THe dye will glow and should help you identify where the problem is coming from.

Let me know what you find.

I put a pressure test on it. When got up to 10lbs. It started to leak. Had to loosen the air conditioner to see the leak. It was the upper intake. Believe the cause was Dex-cool antifreeze, ate the gasket.

I'm glad you found the problem. The intakes are a common problem and it seems the dexcool helps.

Regardless, if you run into trouble, let me know. Also, make sure ALL of the dexcool is out of the engine and cooling system and replace it with GO5 coolant which is universal and can be added to any other type of coolant. That way is you are ever in trouble and don't have the dexcool, you can add any type to it.

Take care, have a great holiday, and thanks for using 2carpros. Com
