I have a 95 s10 blazer with the 4.3 V-6, They told me at the shop that the oxygen sensor was causing the surges while I'm driving from the codes they got. We have since then changed almost every sensor including the EGR valve. Since the EGR valve was changed it has been good, but then it started all over again. It keeps getting pea sized carbon build up on it and we have to keep un-installing it and cleaning it off to make it run well. Why would this keep doing this? What can be causing this? Have any suggestions? I've had enough.

There is an aftermarket EGR valve gasket available that has a screen in it to prevent this. One other thing you should do is have an induction system clean done. It usually runs around $150 at a shop.
