My truck starts but it keeps starting

Hi, I have a 1998 chevy 1500 z71, with 156000 miles, I just put a new starter on a week ago maybe two weeks ago, and just the other day I drove me truck that day and later that day I went to leave again, it wouldnt start the starter just sounded like it was trying to start but I wastnt turning over, so I take it back and get a new one, well ever since that I start my truck and it keeps trying to start it when it is starterd, it stops when I put it in drive and go.

Check the solenoid, and the battery cables leading from the battery terminals to the battery terminalon the starter

Check the battery also. MY friend just had the same thing happen in his Lexus GS300 and it was a shorted battery.

So start with the battery then the cable and follow it to the starter switch until the problem is found.
