A/C clutch will not turn on

I Have a 2001 S10 quad cab with a 4.3l. The A/C clutch will not ingage. I can manually operate the relay and the clutch operates. Will a bad pressure switch allow it to operate manually or is that after the relay? I have not checked the freon level.

If your freon is too low, your clutch will never engage to run the compressor. I would have the system evacualted and service back to the proper level of freon first. If then it doesnt run, lets talk switches and wiring.
