'71 Monte Carlo stalls on left turns

I have a '71 Chevrolet Monte Carlo; not sure how many miles, + or - 50,000, somewhere in there; the engine is a 350 v8 from a '79 Chevrolet Caprice Classic. My problem is that my car stalls out on left turns. It doesn't really matter how much gas is in the tank, but it seems worse when it is more empty. I also got a new Edelbrock Performer Series carburetor and that didn't help. This problem has been driving me nuts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to check your pick-up coil if your at a stop and turning left or look for a kinked fuel line or pinched wiring but you should be more specific as does it feel like you turned the key off or does it sputter out

It seems to act as though I just turned the key off. Sometimes it will backfire and spring back to life if I take the turn just right. Its kind of random. One thing that my dad heard about this is that it might have something to do with a box that is mounted on my steering column. Like an ignition box or something. I took the steering column down, and found a box with two sets of wire things going into it. With the engine running, I could remove the one, and nothing would happen. When I removed the other, it would cut the engine off. I have no idea if this might have something to do with it or not.
