After the engine is warmed up and I have been driving for a while at highway speeds, the engine begins to whine. Noise matches revs and is audible above 2,000 rmps. When I shift into neutral and press the gas, the engine still whines. This leads me to believe it is something on the accessory belt or in the engine. Any ideas?

Other than this, no oil burning or leaking, runs smooth, shifts smooth --there is some trouble starting after the engine is warmed up.

Ok first you will need a long screw driver or a automotive stethescope so you can listen to things to pin point the problem. I would listen to the idle and tensioner pulley's as well as the alternator and power steering pump. Let me know what you find.
