Hello, my car has oil coming out of the top of motor where the distributor would go if it had one. I was told this is usually just a seal. Could you please tell me if this is a rubber or cork type seal. I am hearing different things from different mechanics and don't know which way to go. Please tell me what you can about this.

Definity rubber oring. A parts store will know what you need quite common.

They can refered to by a few names.
Dummy shaft seal,
distrubutor o-ring
distributor plug seal
