My car died on me a little bit ago. I started it and got about a block from my house and it started slowing down and wasn't going when I hit the gas and then it just died. I have gas and the battery has power but I don't know why it would just die on me. I tried to re-start it and it would turn over but it wouldn't catch. It is now siting on the side of the road and I have to get it out of there.

Hi:
The first thing you need to check for is spark to the spark plugs and guel to the injectors. Can you hear the fuel pump turn on for a few seconds when you just turn the key on?

Hi:
If you can't hear the fuel pump, you will need to check for fuel pressure. A gauge will be needed. I suggest if you have never done it, you have someone show you how. If there is no fuel pressure and the car has fuel in the tank. You need to make sure the fuel pump is getting power. If it is, replace the pump.
