what does it mean when service vehicle soon light comes on?

During this time of year it can mean nothing at all at one time the computer got a bad reading from one of the many sensers on the engine but could be as easy as tighting the gas cap autozone will scan the computer for engine trouble codes for free that will tell u what happaned and u can go from there with repairs if nessary hope this helps lsauto
