I have a 99 Chevy Malibu and I have multiple lights going off on my car and the car is driving fine. The alternator wa repaired about 2 yrs okay as well as the battery about 1 yr ago and the engine coolant light is on but fluid is in there and no leaks from there. My friends are telling me that it could be a sensor light or lights malfunctioning as my Check Engine light as been on for a whle now. And that I know is the Emissions problem. So I am thinking of the sensor lights malfunctioning. Can you help me with this?

Thanks

Hello,

If you have the low coolant light illuminated and the coolant is at the correct level, it is likely just a bad level sensor and needs to be replaced.
The level sensor is located at the bottom of the coolant reservoir. You will have to first remove the reservoir in order to access the level sensor.

As for the check engine light. The best course of action would be to have the vehicle scanned for the trouble codes. As there are several reasons why the check engine light is on.
You can take the vehicle to your local auto parts store, and they can scan and give you the codes.

I have attached diagrams for the coolant level sensor below.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
