On a 3.1 liter if you look on drivers side of motor, I have a bad water leak. Leak coming from a either a plastic or a metal hose that is attached to a big nut looking thing. What is that part called and how do you take it off.

It is called a heater pipe nipple.(Quick connect type)
They are about 15 bucks at the parts stores. They do tend to break off in the manifold when you try to change them, so be carefull when you change it.
