I dont know how to really expain this. When the car is cool it runs great. When it gets warm it starts to spit and sputer, then it will shut down and not start for hours tell it is cool again. The only code coming up on it is the EGR. But that should not make it shut down. I need help plz

Egr flow can kill the vehicle, at idle. When the problem occurs if the vehicle cranks good but won't start, have helper crank it, while you visually check for spark at the plugs. You can carry a known good spark plug or spark tester in the glove box, it won't get hot. If the engine is hot, wear gloves, pull a spark plug wire loose, use the tester in the boot. Ground metal part of tester to metal part of engine, engine cranking, watch for spark.

Sometimes the cts can cause a problem, but, you need something to point you in that direction. Any applicable codes? Some of the national brand autostores used to check some codes for free.
