1996 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Hi, my 1996 Chevy Lumina motor makes a knocking sound and I dont know what it could be. How much would it cost for a new motor for my car? Or how much would it cost to get this noise fixed?

These engines are very plentyful in the salvage yards so if you elect to install a used engine with low miles then you would expect to pay about $750 for the engine and about $750 for labor. This is a boston area estimate. It will vary by your location.
