1992 Chevy Lumina loses power

1992 Chevy Lumina V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

When I am going uphill in my car, it seems like I loose power, and it sounds like its kind of miss firing but any other time it sounds okay, except on the highway it did the same thing once or twice, this happens between 2500 and 3000 Rpm I believe, what do you think is wrong with it

Hi:
The most common cause I have found with this type of problem deals with the catylatic converter. Check the exhaust for pressure and listen for rattles or a hissing noise when the vehicle is reved.
