1992 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl 140000 miles

When I was driving my vehice, the brakes or shall I say the rear wheel started smoking. I noticed the odor first, while driving on the highway, and then smoke started comming from the left rear tire. I changed the pads and when inspecting the old ones, they seemed to be burnt, as if on fire. I then changed the pads with hope that I resolved the situation. I drove around town for an hour or so, and everything seemed fine, but when I got on the interstate and started increasing my speed limit, I smelled that burning odor again, and asked my wife, baby do you smell that? And she said yeah, and lo and behold, when I looked out of the drivers rear view, smoke was comming from the driver side rear tire again. Please help, what could be the problem?

Check all your rear calipers could be that the caliper piston is binding and not retracting or a brake hose collasped internally acting like a one way check valve-preventing the fluid going back to the master cylinder-also check the master cylinder
