Hi:
To check for fuel pressure, you will need to rent a tool. Most nationally recognized parts stores will rent them. It will be attached to the fuel system, start the car, and you will get a readout on the gauge. I'm sure the tool will come with directions. THere are many brands and types so I can't tell you what you'll get.
As far as the engine light, will the car make it to the parts store? If so, have them scan the computer for codes. Most do it for free.
Sorry, but without doing these things, anything I tell you would be a guess.
Let me know what you find.
Joe
