Oil Level and Leak

:( I purchased a 1995 C4 Corvette LT1/6 Speed Manual, with 59,960 miles on it the 22 of December. I noticed that it is leaking a little oil on the garage floor. I checked the oil, with the engine cold and it showed to be 1/4 inch above the recommended operating range. The owners manual says to check it warm, would it make that much difference being warm and if it is over filled, could that be the cause of the leak or do I need to expect something more serious?

I doubt it, they wnat it warm so the filter and cooler are completely full. A quarter inch is very little oil
