Fuel pump short 96 Impala ss

My fuel pump keeps shorting out after being installed in gas tank. Runs for about ten minutes then shuts off. What keeps making the fuel pump short out?

Unplug the connector and test the ground wire. The symptoms you are telling us would point to an ungrounded pump burning out!
