Thanks for your last reply. My gas, mph and temperature guages are screwy. Mph sometimes does not reset to 0 when I turn the car off. The needle may stick on 40 so when I go 30 it reads 70. When it does reset it appears to give the correct reading. Gas tank guage reads empty when it is full, temp guage may read way beyond the hottest point and the car is running normal. Also the "message box" gives me faulty indicators like low windshield washer fluid, or low brake fluid. These things are not low and the message box does not read these all the time. Thanks for your help.

Have it scanned for trouble codes. Could either be a bad BCM or a cluster issue. Let me know what you find and ill see what I can do to help

I have a Chevy Impala (2004) and had almost identical problem including the MPH being way off and temperature gauge reading very hot. Mechanic replaced BCM Cluster and after a while, the problem persisted. No error codes ever showe up. Found posts relating to Ignition switch causing this exact type of behavior on the Avalanche, Suburban, and other SUV type vehicles, but not "cars" in particular. Had mechanic replace Ignition Switch after I simulated problem by wriggling key around in ignition and temperature gauge immediately shooting to as hot as is could go. Was not real cheap, but it fixed my problem.
