I'm currently in the process of restoring my impala. I was gonna keep the stock 305 v8 but that isnt exactly working out. So I was just wondering what size/type of engine to put into it. I want to absolutely maximize my horse power tourqe and all around performance. What would you recommend I put into it? Room really isnt a problem the car is huge! Any answer is welcome if u can put in a list of parts. That would be wonderful. I want the most powerful engine I can put in there!

Oh ok thanks anyway. Well maybe ill just fix this one. One more question. Now my impala is blowing white smoke. Im really hoping it isnt the head gasket. I had a really bad antifreeze leak. My thermostat housing was cracked in half. I fixed that but then a grommit and a hose failed and was spraying collant all over my engine. Could that be it?

White smoke usually indicates that there is coolant getting into the combustion chamber. If I had to guess, I would say head gasket or intake.
