The battery had gone dead,so i decided to charge it.After the full charge i noticed that the starter motor was stuck,so i decided to give it a tow my truck.Got it to 2nd gear and got the engine running. It started making allot of white smoke and missfiring.I then decided to switch the engine off and wait for professional mechanical help. The following morning the mechanic told me that all was fine and that he had changed oil, plugs, etc, etc.
Now it makes a clunking noise and smokes after it reaches it's normal temperature.
What can it be? Wil i have to rebuild the engine and all of it's components? Who would you recomend, as i live in the uk and american motors techology is not recognised in this country.
Thanks!

Hi there,

You may well have a cracked piston, you can get a leak down test or a comp test and this may help diagnose this further, a good mechanic will be able to check this out as the technology is exactly the same for your car and a rover or a mini.
