While driving through some water trying to get home on a flooded street, car started acting really strange, power steering seems to have went out, but engine was still drivable and battery light came on but still engine was running and car was driving. Made it home turned car off and after 2 minutes restarted to make sure things where okay. Car started fine, but batter light stays on now. I waited several days until what every may have gotten wet was dry, but now battery light stays on but car start up fine. How do I get that light off and what caused this ti happen. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

first of all to be on the safe side, have your charging system check to make sure the alternator is good. if so, look or have the electrical system looked at, like the starter and battery wires. it's possible the starter solenoid is shorted out going through deep water. anyway good luck and don't drive through water anymore!!! 8) 8) 8)
