It is not because of your "high perfromance" suspension.
I have a 2009 Colbalt, 4 door sedan. I have the bottom of the line, basic model. I have also notice the loud squeak when it is cold outside.
I have 4,000 miles on my car, and just went in for my first oil change. I asked if they had any complaints about this issue and of course, they said no.
I drive over 2 speed bumps every morning to get out of my condo complex. If it is 40 degrees or lower, my suspension squeaks very loudly when driving over the speed bumps. After the car has been driven for several miles, the squeak goes away.
The only way the dealership can verify this is if you leave the car there over night, and they start to drive it on a cold morning.
In my opinion, it sound like the Lower control arm bushings that are squeaking.
