2005 Chevy Cobalt Jerking

My car started jerking just a bit earlier today when going into 2nd. This evening it was jerking no matter what gear I was in and the check engine light came on. It also idles a bit rough once in awhile but not all the time. HELP!

It would help if you scan the codes to see what it says. It may be a misfire, bad MAF, even low coolant possibly. Too many possibilities. If you can take it someplace and have it scanned we can go from there.
