On my 98 chevy truck after replacing the transmission we took it for a test drive and everything worked fine then the next day I took it to town and on the way back it just died. We found that when we turned the key on that the fuel pump wasnt coming on, so we pulled the pump and tested it and found that it was working but im getting no elect thru the wiring. We found that the ECM-B fuse was blown and it blows as soon as you turn the key. Does that control the fuel pump? And if yes, what might be causing it to blow. I can turn a wrench but, elect. Stuff isnt my strong piont

Hi, not sure how you tested pump? A no load test isn't worth much, believe me, I've tried it.

There should be a fuel pump test connector, underhood, driverside, fender lining, close to firewall. A red wire with electrical connector, nothing plugged into it. If you use a jumper wire from battery voltage to connector, USE INLINE FUSE, you should be able to run punp without using the key. If the fuse blows, I'd have to look at the pump.

EcmB supplies voltage to fuel pump relay-- oil pressure switch in the fuel pump circuit and vcm.
