Electrical problem
1969 Chevy Chevelle V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I recently put a BBC 454 in my 69 chevelle, and everything was working ok, it started and ran well no problems at all. Then several days later I turn it over again and it didnt start, but the negative and positve cables were both hot to the point it was melting, what will cause this. Thanks for any help you can give me. Derek

Make sure the positive cable is tight on the starter and the battery. And chassis grounds are really important. Ground cable from battery to engine block, engine block to frame, and a small ground wire from the engine to the firewall. Hope this fixes the problem.
