2004 Chevy Cavalier Water Pump whining noise

just had water pump replaced and car began making whining noise from the pump area. Shop siad must be defective part and replaced with another pump. It is still making that sound. Gets louder as I rev engine. Mechanic just shrugs his shoulders and says it should get better. It is not getting better.

sounds like something isnt lined up right. i would go get a second opinion. if you know what your looking at, see if there is something rubbing that you can show him. maybe he is missing something
