my gas gauge has been acting weird and tonight when I was driving home from work it dropped from a little under a quarter of a tank to E and then the car stalled. When I turned the car back on the car would turn over then shake a bit and then stall again bringing on my battery light and oil light and then a few minutes later my check gages light would come on.

It sounds like you ran out of gas.

There is a sender in the tank that has a float attached, it sends info to gauge on fuel level. It is possible the sender in tank is bad, or wiring to it.

You would have to remove tank (unless access is available through trunk) and replace the entire assy, the sender is not serviceable.

It is also possible the gauge is bad. The dealer should be able to test gauge.
