2002 Chevy Cavalier Steering Column

We changed the steering column and everything went smoothly except for the fact that now, it will not let me put the car into drive or anything other gear. Is there something missing here or have we did something to cause this. It was shifting just fine, until we changed the steering column. Oh by the way everything you told us to do with re-setting the anti theft worked out fine. vivian

check and make sure the interlock switch is hooked up sometimes there is a cable for the interlock. you should be able to hear it click when the brake is depressed. Let me know what you find and ill see what i can do to help
