1999 Chevy Cavalier Won't start.

1999 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

When I Go to start my car it makes the first "click" but then nothing and it sounds like its trying to "spin" but it won't do anything after that it sounds like it just keeps spinning.

Welcome to the forum, not sure what you mean by spinning? Are you saying it cranks good but won't start? If so, have a helper crank it, while you check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure.

I can't really describe the sound but it really sounds like its spinning its been acting up a little before (being hard to start and sometimes it makes a "clunk" noise and takes a few times for it to start.

Is it a normal cranking sound? It is possible for the starter to spin without engaging the pinion gear to flywheel. Right now, I'm just not sure what your hearing, sorry?

Yeah its a normal cranking sound and to me it really just sounds like the starter isn't catching the fly wheel. I just really hope its not the fly wheel

I'd probably take the starter off, with it laying on the ground, you hook jumper cables up to it. See if will not only spin, but kick out the pinion gear. Some of the national brand autostores will test starter.
