I have a 1998 chev cavalier that will not start if it is colder then 20 deg. None of the dish lites come on when it doesn't start. It will start if all the dash lites come on. When starting the car it will run for about 2 sec then dies, like it is not geting any fuel. I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel requlater, the temp sencer the PCM as well as the ignition swich. I have had the car in the shop for over a week. They still don't know what is wrong. Any Idels?

My husband and I have been trying to figure out what is wrong with his car too. He has the same car as you. Except it isn't cold here in Florida. :-) But, it will start for a few seconds then it dies. We had it in the shop three time and finally took it to the dealer. The hooked it up and told us it was the PCM, so that is what we are going to get done next (except it is $700 bucks!). One thing you should know is that your car has had two recalls on it. One of the recalls involves the ignition. Take it to a dealer and they have to replace it for free. That might help some. Good luck! (Wish us the same!)

There is a 50 amp ignition fuse I would replace and then enhance the connection for which supplies power to the ignition switch. Here is the location of the fuse. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
